Tailgate Trends

At Penn State, we do not take game-day lightly. As soon as one Saturday comes to a close, we are already thinking about next weekend’s game. Chances are, we are also thinking about what we are going to wear.

All year long I find myself collecting navy accessories and putting together outfits in my head to wear for the fall football season. Here’s a quick trick: shop by filtering your online shopping by your school’s color! This has been super helpful when I want to look for the perfect game-day ensemble.

Some of my favorite online shops for tailgate clothes are Brandy Melville, Princess Polly, and Urban Outfitters. These places are really on-trend and have the best cheap accessories. Brandy Melville makes a ton of navy dresses, skirts, and printed pants; perfect for Penn Staters. I have found some cute Penn State clothes from Urban, like bodysuits and sports bras with PSU logos. It’s really fun to draw inspiration and buy from tailgate Instagram accounts. Some of my favorite include @bygabby_, @lojobands, @snippedbysteph, and @snippedandstyled. I’m amazed what these girls can do with a pair of scissors and a plain t-shirt. I’ve gotten a cropped jersey, different cheerleader skirts, and custom-made shirts from all of those accounts. Definitely follow these accounts to buy their stuff and stay up to date on the latest tailgate trends.
